Wonderfully elegant and full-bodied white Portuguese

Wow! This superb wine has a bit of everything. Custard, lemon toast, vanilla, some yellow fruit, and spices. The Esporão Reserva Branco has a complex aromatic profile of ripe white fruit, subtle vanilla notes, and a hint of minerals. It also has a nice full body and plenty of freshness. It comes from the Alentejo in PortugalIt is a blend of indigenous grape varieties: Antão Vaz, Arinto and Roupeiro all organic grown and sourced from their own vineyards, the Esporão Reserva Branco distinguishes itself through its balance between freshness and richness, resulting in a versatile and elegant wine. This wine reminds many people of a white Burgundy and scores at least a 4 on Vivino every year!

    Taste profile and food pairing

Upon tasting, the wine unfolds its character layer by layer. With every sip, you taste something new. Notes of peach and citrus fruit are complemented by subtle oak influences and a mineral undertone. The wine has a full body with a creamy texture, while the natural acidity provides freshness. These characteristics make it ideal with fish and shellfish dishes, creamy pastas, or poultry. The wine also pairs excellently with soft cheeses or can be enjoyed as a refined aperitif. The Esporão Reserva Branco comes into its own perfectly with dishes featuring cream sauces or grilled fish.

    Herdade do Esporão en Alentejo

Herdade do Esporão, founded in 1267, is a winery with a rich history in the heart of the Alentejo. This largest wine region of Portugal It is characterized by a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. The soil varies from granite and slate to calcareous clay, which contributes to the complexity of the wines. The Esporão estate covers 1,800 hectares, of which 700 hectares are vineyards and 80 hectares are olive trees. Sustainability is central to Esporão; the company has been working on the transition to organic viticulture since 2008.

The vineyards for the Esporão Reserva Branco are located at an altitude of 200-250 meters and benefit from the cooling effects of the Alqueva reservoir. The grapes are harvested by hand in the early morning to preserve freshness. After careful selection, cool fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks. A portion of the wine ages for several months in French oak barrels. This combination of terroir, tradition, and modern techniques defines the character of the Esporão Reserva Branco.
