    This Amarone deserves your attention.

Beneath the large stones that characterize the soils of Campiano lies a unique mineral stratification. This adds an extra dimension to the Gini Tenuta Scajari Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva, alongside the production process in which the grapes are first dried for 3-4 months. A blend of Corvina 60%, Corvinone 25%, Rondinella 10%, and Oseleta 5%. All of this results in a complex and seductive Amarone produced here at Gini. Very intense ruby red, fine, deep, and complex, with notes of cherries and blackberries, cocoa, tobacco, and licorice. Dry, elegant, full-bodied with good acidity. The wine is velvety and lively, with a long, clean finish.

In short, very impressive... A hedonistic powerhouse of a wine. Moreover, the wine has already matured for your enjoyment for a decade or so and is fully ready to drink. It should be mentioned, however, that in good years it may certainly remain in your cellar for another ten years. This is a wine you drink with your children on your 18th birthday. Let them see that that delayed desire actually pays off. However, one must prepare a celebratory meal to accompany it and find a moment of silence and respect for this meditation wine! What about Pan-fried calf's liver with red onion confit and stewed pears, a grilled flank steak with cranberry or port sauce or a roasted duck breast with cherry sauce?

    No compromises are made here!

The grapes for the Gini Tenuta Scajari Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva are hand-picked with the utmost care in early October and naturally dried as whole bunches for 3-4 months in special ventilated rooms. After fermentation, the wine spent the first few months in temperature-controlled steel tanks. The second step involves the wine aging for 5 months in oak barrels.
At the end of the aging process, the wine is bottled without any filtration and spent another 6 months in the bottle before being released.

Here at Gini, the utmost attention has always been paid to caring for their vineyards and wines in an exclusively natural way. Tradition and innovation coexist and work together in harmony at all stages of production to obtain increasingly refined products. Their first vinification sulfite-free, in 1985, it was therefore revolutionary at the time. It has changed the course of oenology and enhanced the expressive purity of our wines. At Gini, we see it as their task to let the grapes speak, and to know how to listen to them and “pamper” them. The viticulture is organic, with respect for the environment and the traditions of their ancestors, who have always cultivated the land using natural methods.
