A Modern Classic: Viura & Sauvignon Blanc

The Herrero Medievo Rioja Blanco is not a traditional, heavy white wine, but a modern interpretation of a classic. The blend consists of the authentic Viura grape and the internationally beloved Sauvignon Blanc. The Spanish Viura grape is found more frequently in Spain these days. • Terroir: The grapes grow in Aldeanueva de Ebro on a mineral-rich soil of clay and limestone. This gives the wine its characteristic ‘bite’ and freshness.
• Vinification: To capture the aromas of fresh fruit, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
• Subtle Wood Aging: A small portion of the wine ages briefly in oak barrels. This provides just that little bit of extra roundness, body, and complexity without masking the freshness.
