The Louis Jadot Bourgogne Côte d'Or is a modern, smooth pinot noir with a firm bite. Born in the country of origin: Burgundy. Made by a top manufacturer. A wine with a for Pinot Noir Deep color. Delicious, seductive aromas of cherries and blueberries. Aging in oak barrels provides notes of toast and spices. The tannins are fine and elegant, and the taste and finish are remarkably juicy. A wine that drinks easily but possesses a certain firmness. This makes it suitable for the dinner table as well. A lovely accompaniment to various red meat and poultry dishes, rich vegetarian dishes, and mature cheeses.
The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks, but the must is submerged for 3 weeks to achieve greater extraction. Subsequently, one half of the wine ages in oak barrels for 15-18 months and the other half in stainless steel. Afterwards, the wines are carefully blended to achieve the right taste and structure.
The hand-drawn, and for Burgundy, very modern design on the label reflects the three elements that make this wine so special: the soils, the landscape, and the diverse vineyards – climats – of the Côte d’Or.
There has been a change in the lower echelons of the Burgundy classification. The AOC Bourgogne Côte d’Or is new! The first bottles with that label are already back on the shelves. The Institut Nationale des Appellations d’Origine granted permission for it in 2017. This means that yet another ‘distinctive’ French wine designation is being added.
The region needed a new standard to distinguish the wines from vineyards superior to those on the flattest parts of the Côte d’Or, but could not bear the names of the many famous villages along this renowned eastern part of Burgundy. A quality higher than Bourgogne Blanc or Rouge in terms of origin, they required recognition of the superiority of these vineyards in the form of a new appellation. Thus, wines from the Côte d’Or can be a blend of the Côtes de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune.
