A Pinot Grigio that is truly top-notch!

Pinot Grigio is perhaps one of the best-known Italian grape varieties. A popular, fresh, dry white wine. But the differences in quality are significant. From the very first sip, we were truly enthusiastic about the Monviert Martagona Pinot Grigio! What a fine wine this is! Top quality! A gold medal from France's premier international wine guide, Gilbert & Gaillard! We completely agree! A delicious, pure wine! The coppery color; the nose is reminiscent of warm bread crust and the scent of acacia blossoms. Also white fruit, peach, and a hint of wildflowers. Plenty of flavor on the palate. Pure, refined, rich, and round with a fresh, long finish! A Pinot Grigio Something that truly makes you happy to drink! A wine of distinction! A wine with plenty of body, with a pleasantly dry taste. Also with a particularly low sulfur content.

Delicious with vegetable dishes such as grilled green asparagus. In addition, the Monviert Martagona Pinot Grigio is of course also delicious and holds its own well with a Fried piece of cod with a breaded crust and pesto. Great combination!

Ronchi San Giuseppe is now called Montviert

They are (still) unknown in the Netherlands. It is one of the wineries that we import ourselves. In 2019, they changed the name Ronchi San Giuseppe to their family name Monviert. There were simply too many Ronchis, hence the change! Now it is the proud Montviert!

Monviert produces wines in Cividale del Friuli, with Schioppettino, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Picolit, Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and many others among its best wines. They are located in Spessa di Cividale del Friuli in the province of Udine, close to the Italian border with Slovenia, precisely on the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The Monviert company owns 18 hectares of vineyards situated between the Julian Alps, which guarantee the grapes ideal protection against cold winds and benefit from the sea breeze coming from the Adriatic Sea. The soils consist of various marl, but also include gravel and clay. All of this creates a microclimate and an ideal habitat for the slow and gradual ripening of the grapes and the production of red and white wines of excellent quality.

If you are more in the mood for a glass of red wine, try the Monviert Martagona Schioppettino.
