Burgundy style with a Tuscan twist!

The Petrolo Boggina B is a beautiful white wine from the world-famous Bolgheri in Tuscany. You could call it a white Supertuscan. Made from 100% Trebbiano from Petrolo's finest vineyards. This Boggina B was created following a special meeting with top producer Lucien Le Moine from Burgundy. Consequently, the Burgundian inspiration can be tasted in this Trebbiano. Soft aromas of yellow apple, juicy melon, mineral notes, and hints of jasmine, accompanied by delightful oak aging. A white wine that, just like good white Burgundy wines, can be aged for up to 15 years!

    Tasting note Petrolo Bòggina B

Ripe lemons, honey, juicy melon, and yellow apple dance in the glass. The golden-yellow juice is silky smooth, full, and round. Mineral notes, subtle hints of jasmine, and a fresh acidity cut through the round, creamy buttery flavor, bringing the wine into beautiful balance. Extremely concentrated in flavor, which lingers for an incredibly long time. When drunk young, the wine bursts with fruit, but even after several years, this remains a very special and complex example. A top wine par excellence! Serve the wine with vegetarian dishes, pasta vongole, or fish dishes.

    Vinification

In the middle of the Italian TuscanyJust south of Florence, you will find the Bòggina vineyards of Petrolo. These are the oldest vineyards of the Petrolo estate. Planted on the rich soil of marl, sandstone, and slate, the Trebbiano grape is thoroughly enjoying itself. The grapes are hand-picked and rigorously sorted. The wine ferments on its own yeasts in oak barrels (tonneaux). Here, the wine ages on the lees (sur-lie) for 15 months, with constant bâtonnage. Only when the wine is bottled is it separated from the lees.

    Petrolo

Petrolo is the ultimate cult winery, with an owner and story that have brought it to legendary status. Petrolo’s vineyards are located in the historic Valdarno di Sopra. Although relatively unknown, even in the wine world, the name Valdarno di Sopra dates back to the time of the Medici family during the Renaissance. Situated in the small area near Chianti in Tuscany, this region has always been known for its viticultural potential. The estate is covered with forests, vineyards, and olive groves, giving the land an enormously rich ecosystem. You can taste this in the quality of the grapes. Over the past fifteen years, Petrolo has risen to become one of the largest wineries in Tuscany and Italy, particularly famous for wines with a strong regional identity.
