Yes, let those corks pop, because it’s one of those days when anything goes! Carpe diem! The Pirovano Casa Coller Spumante is another one of those wines that always fits. Take it along on the boat, to a picnic, to your rooftop terrace, or simply to your parents' backyard. A wine enjoyed by everyone that goes with everything. A classic Spumante. Not too carbonated, beautifully dry, and very affordable. Another one you should always have chilled and ready for that "you never know" moment. On the nose, it smells of a nice fresh apple and a ripe pear. A bit of peach fruit too. Nicely crisp and fresh on the palate. No harsh Spa Red bubbles here, but beautifully round with a pleasantly soft tingle. The taste is also delightful with that white fruit and a beautiful dry finish without aggressive acidity. Truly a bubble for everyone! The Pirovano Casa Coller Spumante is made from Garganega and Trebbiano grapes according to the ‘méthode charmat’. This means that the second fermentation does not take place in the bottle, as with Champagne, but in stainless steel tanks. This gives (and preserves) this Spumante's fruity style.
Delicious for an Aperitivo on its own, but also goes well with all kinds of Anti Pasti, Risotto alla Primavera, Risi Bisi and with all kinds of seafood. and of course that party on that Saturday!
Quite some time ago now… around 1850, shoemaker Amadio Pirovano decided to give up his work as a shoemaker for his great interest: wine. He opened a restaurant serving local wines for his sons, Constantino and Antonio. Things got so out of hand that in 1910 they started a small wine company. That small wine company has gradually grown into a large concern with wines from many Italian wine regions: Veneto, Abruzzo, Marche, Puglia, and Sardinia. In addition to still wines, Pirovano produces quality ‘spumanti’ under the name Casa Coller.
