In any case, the Casa Coller Spumante Prosecco Extra Dry is simply one for every day. Wonderfully refreshing, lovely fine bubbles, and it kicks you right back! Light-footed, making it always a great starting point for more intense winemaking later in the evening. Also perfectly suited for a romantic breakfast with a rusk and fresh strawberries! We always take it along for a picnic in the park.
Casa Coller Spumante Prosecco Extra Dry is dry, but not super-duper bone-dry. It has a pleasantly friendly quality to the opening. A fruity Prosecco with a beautiful balance between ripe fruit and fresh acidity. Made from the obligatory Glera Grape. Aromas of ripe pear, apple, blossom, and a hint of almond. Pleasantly easy to drink with a friendly mousse. A refreshing whole. Excellent for all your friends. The Prosecco is great with light appetizers such as Ottolenghi's Burrata with grilled grapes, Caprese salad, grilled vegetables, and stuffed courgette flower.
This sparkling wine is made using the ‘méthode charmat’. This means that the second fermentation does not take place in the bottle, as with Champagne, but in stainless steel tanks. The wine remains pleasantly fruity and develops fine, friendly bubbles without being harsh.
Amadio Pirovano worked as a shoemaker but decided to give this up in 1850 for his passion: making wine and working in the sun. Together with his sons Constantino and Antonio, he opened a restaurant serving local wines. The hobby got so out of hand that they started a small wine company. The small wine company has since grown into a large concern with wines from many Italian wine regions: Veneto, Abruzzo, Marche, Puglia, and Sardinia. In addition to still wines, Pirovano produces quality 'spumanti' under the name Casa Coller. The Casa Coller Spumante Prosecco Extra Dry is therefore a magnificent calling card.
