This wine is like the perfect Chablis should be. Soft, balanced, and complex! It has citrus, peach, pear, something creamy, and the minerals are really nicely present. The Régnard Chablis “Grand Regnard” is made of 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced from two famous Grand Cru vineyards: Les Clos and Vaudésir. The terroir of Chablis is known for its Kimmeridge limestone terroir, which is rich in mineral complexity. Incidentally, this is the same limestone (called ‘The Basin of Paris’) that runs through Champagne, all the way to the Cliffs of Dover.
In short:
The taste is a feast for the senses. This wine offers a delightful balance between freshness and complexity, with notes of citrus, green apple, and minerality. The finish is long and refined, with a hint of butter and honey rounding it off. Additionally, the Kimmeridge limestone terroir provides a distinctive minerality that gives the wine depth. The wine is suitable for various occasions, from a festive lunch to a gourmet dinner.
Perfect to combine with:
The Régnard winery, founded in 1860, is one of the oldest and most prestigious producers of Chablis. With respect for tradition and a passion for quality, they create wines that reflect the essence of the terroir. Régnard Chablis “Grand Regnard” AOC is harvested by hand and carefully vinified to preserve the purity of the Chardonnay grapes. The use of modern techniques, combined with centuries-old knowledge, results in a wine that is both classic and contemporary.
The grapes for this wine come from two top vineyards: Les Clos and Vaudésir. These Grand Cru vineyards are among the best terroirs in Chablis. After the manual harvest, a careful selection takes place. The grapes are gently pressed to obtain the purest juices. Subsequently, the wine ages partly in stainless steel and partly in oak. This combination preserves freshness and adds subtle complexity. The aging lasts several months and ensures a harmonious balance between fruit and minerality. Each bottle Régnard Chablis “Grand Regnard” AOC tells the story of dedication to quality and respect for the terroir.

What is the difference between Chablis and other Burgundy Chardonnays? Chablis has a cooler climate and the specific Kimmeridge limestone soil. This results in wines with more minerality, freshness, and fewer ripe fruit notes than Chardonnays from warmer parts of the Burgundy. Chablis wines are also often aged in oak not at all, or only minimally, so that their fresh character is preserved.
How long can I store the Régnard Chablis “Grand Regnard”? As a Grand Cru Chablis, this wine has excellent aging potential of 8 to 12 years. The wine is already delicious to drink but will gain complexity in the coming years. During aging, the wine develops more honeyed and nutty notes, while the minerality becomes more prominent.
