The red wine Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria from Feudi di San Marzano is full-bodied, rich, and complex. You can smell it as soon as you put your nose to the glass. An absolute top wine from Puglia, the heel of Italy. The aroma features plums, cherries, wild berries, tobacco, cocoa, and vanilla. The finish is full-bodied with a depth that never ends. An absolute winner! Now also bottled for larger groups, in a 1.5-liter bottle. A true magnum on the table. This way, you can invite some friends over to let them taste this as well.

The Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria is made from very old Primitivo vines. Consequently, these produce grapes of very high quality! However, this does result in a significantly lower yield: only 3,000 kg of grapes per hectare. For most wines, this is at least double, and cheap supermarket wines sometimes reach three times that amount. The grape juice used for the top wine ‘Sessantanni’ is rich in flavor and highly concentrated.
The Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria is San Marzano's flagship wine, and the 2017 vintage was awarded 98/100 points by Luca Maroni (the Italian wine critic) and ranks among the highest-rated (high-end) Primitivo di Manduria. The wine received a high 4-star rating (4.5*) from Vivino consumers and achieved the maximum score (trebicchieri) with 3 glasses from Gambero Rosso. For the lover of this sultry, warm, full-bodied wine, the Sessantanni Primitivo di Manduria is truly paradise.
The grapes for the Sessantanni come from an old vineyard located around the famous village of Manduria in Puglia – in the heel of Italy. Incidentally, the Primitivo grape is related (one of the parents) to the American Zinfandel and is undoubtedly one of the most popular grape varieties at the moment. Excellent quality at a great price-quality ratio. Alongside the iconic Primitivo di Manduria from Gianfranco Fino, the San Marzano certainly ranks in the top 3 of the best Primitivo di Manduria wines. The Sessantanni aged for 12 months in French and American oak. On the nose, this is certainly evident with vanilla notes and aromas of cherries, plums, spices, leather, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, powerful, creamy, and a fruit bomb with notes of black fruit, cocoa, coffee, and vanilla. The finish is grand and captivating. It never ends.
