Rosapasso Rosato: Italian Rosé from Pinot Noir

The Rosapasso Rosato Biscardo is an elegant rosé from the Veneto-region in Northern Italy. This wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir, a grape variety known for its refinement and fruity character. The Rosapasso immediately stands out with its light salmon-pink color and fresh style. It is a rosé that perfectly suits sunny moments, but also pairs excellently with a wide variety of dishes. With this, Biscardo demonstrates that their expertise lies not only with red and white wines, but also with rosé.

    Aroma, Taste and Serving Suggestion

On the nose, you discover aromas of wild strawberries and ripe cherries, complemented by a subtle spicy note. The taste is smooth and harmonious, with a good balance between freshness, fruit, and a light sweetness. The finish is pleasant and refreshing, making the wine accessible and versatile.

    Food and wine pairings:

    • Delicious with light starters and salads
    • Pairs well with fish dishes and shellfish.
    • In combination with soft cheeses or creamy risotto
    • Delicious with white meat such as chicken or turkey

Excellent as an aperitif on a warm day

The Rosapasso Rosato is therefore not only suitable for summer drinks, but also a fine accompaniment at the table.

    Rosé and the Winemaking Process

Rosé is made from red grapes, in this case Pinot Noir. The light color is created because the grape skins remain in contact with the grape juice for only a short time. During this brief process, the skins release pigments, resulting in the soft pink hue of the wine. If the skins were left to macerate longer, the color would become darker and the character more robust.

Contrary to popular belief, rosé is not a blend of red and white wine. Within Europe, this is prohibited, with the exception of the Champagne region, where a small percentage of red wine may be added to rosé Champagne. With the Rosapasso, the chosen method results in a refined and fresh style that suits the modern rosé enthusiast perfectly.

The Biscardo Winery and the Rosapasso

The Biscardo winery has a long tradition dating back to the 19th century. Led by brothers Maurizio and Martino Biscardo, the company is known for wines such as the red Neropasso and the white Oropasso. With the Rosapasso, they have added a rosé that reflects the same meticulous approach. The vineyards in Veneto offer ideal conditions: plenty of sunshine, cool nights, and a soil that provides the grapes with the right minerality. This results in a rosé that is both fresh and full of flavor.
