It is a beautifully situated estate, Borgo dei Posseri, and has been owned by Maria and Martin Mainenti for about twenty years. The location is on a gently sloping plateau, approximately 500 meters above the Adige valley, in Northeast Italy. Truly a cool climate region for light-footed, fresh, and juicy wines. When you are there, the view is truly phenomenal. A small part of the estate's own vineyards, comprising nearly 230 hectares, is located near the main buildings, the majority in almost twenty different locations elsewhere. Thus, for the Borgo dei Posseri Paradis Pinot Nero, exclusively Pinot Nero was produced, or Pinot Noir Selected. The wine has a moderately intense ruby red color. Lots of ripe red fruit, strawberries, tart cherries, blackberries. This also makes the wine juicy, smooth, and with a lovely fruity opening, some cherry, a bay leaf, and soft woody notes. Smooth to drink with plenty of fine acidity. Delicious and surprising!
Drink the Borgo dei Posseri Paradis Pinot Nero with Italian charcuterie, perhaps slightly chilled; an ideal wine for Carpaccio. Also great with grilled salmon or tuna and some coleslaw on a beautiful day on the terrace.
Borgo dei Posseri is a young and very modern winery situated between the River Adige and the Dolomites. The winery was founded in 2000 by Martin Mainetti. In a short time, it has grown to a vineyard area of over 225 hectares, spread across 20 vineyards in Trentino-Alto Adige. The house produces single-varietal wines from Pinot Nero, Merlot, Gewürztraminer, Müller Thurgau, and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines of Borgo dei Posseri are produced based on Trentino tradition, but reinterpreted so that the local terroir becomes an element of their style. Fresh and elegant, crisp yet bold! They use the past to make it an integral part of the future.
Making wines that try to tell a story. Good not only to drink, but also to enjoy. And to be perfectly honest, the Borgo dei Posseri Paradis Pinot Nero is a very fine example of that.
The estate comprises a total area of approximately 230 hectares, where vineyards (20 in total) are interspersed with forest and meadows. The land, which was previously used for mountain pastures, has been transformed into a vineyard since 2000, using the most modern winemaking techniques and in an effort to maximize the natural beauty of the area. Much attention is also paid to the selection of young vines sourced from the best nurseries in Europe, all with the aim of producing fine wines with a clearly defined character.
