Refined Vacqueyras. Perfectly ready for you to drink!

Château du Trignon Vacqueyras always requires some aging before being served. It is a fairly robust red wine that is only ready to drink after a few years. But patience is rewarded at this fantastic winery, which delivers top quality year after year! Château du Trignon Vacqueyras is an elegant Vacqueyras made from Syrah and Grenache. The wine has a ruby red color with a purple hue. The aroma features cherries, strawberries, and red currants, with a hint of vanilla. Hints of wood, vanilla, and mint add further depth. There are also clearly some tertiary aromas that have developed over time, such as truffle, leather, and some compost. It finishes with a long aftertaste. It is fantastic with braised lamb in the style of a Daube Provençale and, for example, with gratinated aubergines.

Here in Vacqueyras lie the vineyards of the Quiot winery, where various grape varieties grow, including the Grenache and Syrah grapes that come together in this wine. Château du Trignon boasts four terroirs, ranging from gravel to sandy soil. The grapes are carefully harvested, with quality and ripeness already being assessed in the vineyard itself. Upon arrival at the winery, another rigorous selection follows. The grapes then undergo cold maceration to extract color and flavors. Subsequently, the juice is fermented for three weeks at a controlled temperature. The must is pumped over twice a day, giving the wine more color, tannins, and flavor. Finally, the wine ages for a year, 10 percent of which is in oak.

    Château du Trignon

Château du Trignon served as a traditional Provençal cattle farm for many years. That was until 1896, when the estate was sold to the Roux family. Five generations transformed Château du Trignon into a prestigious wine estate by focusing on grape cultivation with a constant eye for quality. The Roux family expanded the estate to include a number of nearby appellations: Gigondas, Rasteau, Sablet, and Côtes du Rhône. In 2007, the Quiot family became the owners of Château du Trignon. Jérôme and Geneviève Quiot and their children Florence and Jean-Baptiste are the ideal people to continue the operations of Château du Trignon. They know the area like no other and are French to the core. Highly motivated, they seize every opportunity for improvement.
