The Château du Trignon Gigondas always excels in warmer vintages, deliciously aged in our cellars and fully ready for you to open between now and the next 6-8 years. It has shed all its youthful characteristics and presents itself as an attractive young adult. Made from traditional grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Mouvèdre and Cinsault. It immediately presents itself with attractive notes of earth and dried herbs over cherry fruit and a hint of garrigue. It is full and velvety, yet remains fresh due to the long, open finish. The Château du Trignon Gigondas also reveals gingerbread spices, black pepper, and red fruit on the nose, and a touch of kirsch. It is a medium to full-bodied wine with silky, slightly drying tannins that spread across the palate like a layer of cinnamon and clove. Mocha, blackberries, blackberry jam, wood, and clove linger in the back of your mind. The Gigondas 2015 is simply a no-brainer, it is so delicious! Just sit back and enjoy!
Naturally, always a great combination with lamb chops or a stew with Provençal herbs. Also delicious with truffle dishes when in season (and your wallet allows).
Château du Trignon It is often mentioned in the same breath as the Southern Rhône. It owns several vineyards in the important ‘Villages’ in the Rhône, including Vacqueyras, Gigondas, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Château du Trignon possesses three terroirs for its Gigondas wines, ranging from alluvial to sandstone soil.
Aged, licorice, spices, plums, graphite. Sweet and sour, rich but also grippy. – Perswijn
A very rich palate that offers dark berries and a wealth of ripe, plush, blue-plum and blueberry flavors. The palate has a juicy, sumptuous feel and a rich, suave tannin build. Drink or hold.” – Wine Spectator
“A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, this is a bold red packed with ripe cassis and mulberry flavors. It’s concentrated and spicy, accented by traces of clove and pepper. A hint of green herbs lend freshness to the finish. Best enjoyed now–2025.” Wine Enthousiast
