The trade magazine Perswijn gives 4.5 out of 5 stars, and we think that is entirely justified!

Château Le Grand Verdus Grande Réserve is a seductive and high-class Bordeaux Supérieur! Classically made from the holy trinity of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. With a seductive, complex aroma of delicate black fruit such as cherries and blackcurrants. Complemented by dark chocolate, earthy notes of truffles and walnut. The wine has power and finesse, polished tannins and a very beautiful balance. With a soothing, creamy finish that seems endless. It is remarkable that the wine almost no added sulfites contains. So nice and pure nature here, because naturally we pay close attention to that at wijnclubAmsterdam.nl.

This wine deserves fine dishes. The first thought goes to elegant grilled red meat (entrecôte, rib-eye, T-bone, tournedos). A classic is, of course, roasted lamb with a sauce Bordelaise. It is a truly superb combination with venison steak. Or perhaps braised veal cheek? Or other tender braised meat? Also perfectly fine with a hard cheese such as Parmesan or aged Gouda. A wine that Perswijn might even put on the table at Christmas?

    Chateau Le Grand Verdus

In the heart of the hilly landscape in the AOC Bordeaux Supérieur area lie the vineyards of Château Le Grand Verdus. The stately estate, with its 16th-century Renaissance residence, has been in the hands of the Le Grix de la Salle family since 1810. A traditional family, they have passed down the art of winemaking from father to son for many generations. Currently, the fourth generation of winemakers is at the helm of Château Le Grand Verdus: Antoine and Thomas Le Grix de la Salle. The vineyards boast a unique terroir and microclimate and benefit from the distinctive composition of the landscape surrounding Bordeaux. The enormous variations in altitude create a patchwork of different soil types, from limestone to clay and gravel. All these soil types contribute to the unique character of the wines of Château Le Grand Verdus.
Since this year, the château has held the "Haute Valeur Environnementale" (HVE3) label. This is proof that it is a conscious and sustainable wine producer.
