The noble Costanti family is one of the oldest families in Montalcino. The current Count, Andrea, is a geologist and has owned the winery since 1983. He knows his trade: the small estate is highly acclaimed among connoisseurs. The winery is located two kilometers east of Montalcino, and the soil is the famous Tuscan Galestro. The vineyards for Brunello are situated at high altitudes: between 330 and 440 meters. In the 1990s, the highest vineyards were considered the absolute limit for ripening Sangiovese. However, with climate change and higher average temperatures, opinions on this have changed. Costanti actually benefits from this high altitude: the wines are fresher, juicier, and more delicate than average. Here, there is no heaviness or rustic wines, but rather delicacy and refinement.
