L’Onde Rythmique Lunaire was created by the Despagne winery to the rhythm of the moon. And what a fantastic product it has become! Deep garnet in color. Aromatic nose with hints of blackberries, black cherry, and a touch of earthiness. Medium body on the palate with notes of cassis. Light and well-balanced acidity with low tannins. A beautiful Organic Bordeaux. You don't see that often.

Despagne Winery

Jean-Louis Despagne is a phenomenon. Over the past decades, he has astounded the world with his sublime Bordeaux wines from Entre-deux-Mers. Despagne worked as an oenologist for several years in North Africa and in North and South America before taking over his father's estate. That estate is Tour de Mirambeau in Naujan et Postiac. Despagne had grand plans for it.

Over the years, he expanded the vineyard from 20 to 88 hectares, increased the planting density to 5,000 vines per hectare, and reduced the yield to 1.5 kilos of grapes per vine. The objective: better ripeness and greater concentration in the wine. In the cellar, too, Despagne strives for perfection. Fermentation takes place under complete temperature control, all vinification and storage areas are climate-controlled, and the level of hygiene led to the awarding of an ISO 9002 certificate in 1997. It was the first ISO certificate to be awarded to a French wine company.

Terroir and vinification

A maritime climate with warm summers and fairly mild winters. The soil consists of clay and limestone. Fermentation and aging take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. No wood aging to preserve the fruity character of the wine.

Taste and food pairing

Fruity notes on the nose, and on the palate the beautiful round character of the Merlot comes to the fore. Aromatic nose with hints of blackberries, black cherry, and a touch of earthiness. Medium body. Delicious for a weekday, for example with a steak, fries, and grilled aubergine.

L’Onde Rythmique Lunaire

According to the winemaker, L’Onde means that everything takes place at the right moment and the right time. This involves taking the phase of the moon, among other things, into account when the grapes are harvested. This results in a beautiful wine, a pleasure to drink!
