Domaine de l’Ostal Rosé – a delicious Southern French thirst quencher

Deliciously fresh and fruity rosé from the Languedoc in the South of France. Light in color and full of flavor: an aromatic and elegant rosé. The aroma is full of freshness and fruit with red currants, raspberries, and also some floral notes, including rose petals. The taste is fresh and seductive with a spicy undertone. The grapes are picked early in the morning, pressed immediately, and vinified under cool conditions. This preserves the freshness of the grapes.

Delicious with a summer salad, grilled prawns, or poultry. But this wine also works perfectly with a BBQ!

A long search, but finally a result

After a four-year search through the Languedoc, we found Château Lynch-BagesOwner Jean-Michel Cazes and his son Jean-Charles finally found a suitable location in the Minervois for their new project. At the foot of the Montagne Noir, they purchased an estate in 2002 comprising 150 hectares of slate soil mixed with sandstone and pebbles, one-third of which was planted with vines and 25 hectares with olive trees. They would go on to plant even more vineyards to ultimately realize their dream: producing wines in the Languedoc that perfectly align with their standard of quality, just as they apply to their Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé. Everything for the best!

Domaine de l‘Ostal It is situated in a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and fairly mild winters. The vineyards have a southern exposure and the soil is a mosaic of marl on calcareous sandstone. Rosemary and wild lavender grow abundantly in the “garrigues” landscape. After vinification, the blend ages in oak barrels for a year.
