Delicious, complex Cabernet from Spain

The Finca Loranque Cabernet Sauvignon is a summary of the characteristics that produce the best Cabernet Sauvignon. Here we see powerful expression, firm tannins, an open character, and a long finish. The Cabernet grapes for the Finca Loranque Cabernet Sauvignon were cultivated with care in the best vineyard plots. Harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, this variety explicitly reveals both its power and its finesse. It is clear that one of the (if not the) best winemakers from Spain, Telmo Rodriguez, had a firm hand in this. The Loranque Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the best examples of fine-tuning of this variety in Castile. For instance, it is listed in the Penin Guide to the Wines with five stars (the highest possible) for its quality/price ratio and therefore receives one of the highest scores for a wine in its class.

The wine is therefore powerful and very frank. Very expressive nose, with notes of ripe black fruit, cedar, and paprika aromas. The wine makes a strong impression immediately. The taste is clear and focused. All pleasant and tasty. Shows elegant and subtle aging. Well-tamed tannins complete the wine. A typically ripe Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in oak for 16 months, making it somewhat softer and creamier.

Pairs perfectly with a leg of lamb with red wine jus and roasted baby potatoes. Also enjoys being served with some roasted game.

Finca Loranque

Finca Loranque is surrounded by fertile, calcareous clay soil, which is perfect for agriculture and especially for vineyards. The most difficult part of the project was designing a vineyard that could guarantee the production of quality wines. To achieve our goal, we decided that the only person who could help us was Pablo Eguzkiza, from the Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez, a company that truly promotes the most important terroirs in Spain.

After a careful study of the soil, rainfall, specific climatic conditions… And the distribution of the 500 hectares that make up the land on the estate, it was decided to plant 42 hectares with the Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo and Merlot varieties, which have shown over the years that they feel well at home in the soil where they are planted. The grapes produce with high concentration and quality. In this way, Finca Loranque has managed to restore the wine-growing history and, moreover, this area has regained the wine-producing fame it has always had.

Since 2002

After many years of preparing the vineyard and conducting various tests, the first vintage appeared in 2002, summarizing the fundamental characteristics of Finca Loranque's philosophy: a dedication to the distinctive features of the terroir, the unmistakable oenological stamp created by a winemaking team of proven reliability, and the constant pursuit of quality in all processes. Judging by the praise of specialized critics, who place Finca Loranque's wines in privileged positions in their rankings and reviews, the goal has been achieved. Finca Loranque produces various wines, each with its own distinct personality and the unique character of a land with a centuries-old wine tradition. In conclusion, all this demonstrates that Finca Loranque is one of the best exponents of the new Spanish wines.
