The Gustave Lorentz Pinot Gris Réserve Vin d’Alsace is a dry style Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder or Pinot Grigio) from old vines with exemplary spiciness, apricots, and other white fruits. A round – but certainly not sultry and heavy – structure. Additionally, precisely because of its lively, fresh character, it has great length with an attractive, exotic tension.
Pinot Gris is one of the most gastronomic wines of Alsace. The round bouquet evokes ripe fruit and the scents of autumn. Full, round, and long on the palate, with complex aromas of lightly smoky undergrowth. It develops a very charming richness and flavor! Delicious with fish, poultry, asparagus, soft cheeses, and certainly with Asian dishes as well.
For more than two and a half centuries, the Lorentz family and the picturesque village of Bergheim have been linked. The Lorentz family's first vineyards were situated on the slopes of the Altenberg (a Grand Cru vineyard), where Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and Muscat were cultivated. Recognition for the exceptional terroir, composed of limestone and marl soils, followed in 1983 with the awarding of Grand Cru status. Georges Lorentz, the eighth generation to lead the company, passionately implements modern insights. For instance, a number of vineyards have been organically certified by EcoCert since 2012. The wines of Gustave Lorentz staan bekend als gastronomisch: fris, droog en goed gebalanceerd.
