The Louis Latour Saint-Véran ‘Les Deux Moulins’ is named after the two watermills along the vineyards. A 100% Chardonnay from the village of Saint-Véran in the south of the Mâconnais in Burgundy. This wine is a beautiful example of the fresh style for which the Mâconnais is known. Rich and powerful on the palate, yet lively and fresh on the finish. Floral aromas and white almonds, enveloped by a mineral layer. A top wine with prawns and blue cheese from Burgundy.
Brilliant golden yellow in the glass with seductive aromas of honeysuckle, linden, almond, peach, and honey. The taste is full and round, yet also fresh and lively. A delicate mineral note with fresh fruit makes this Chardonnay very elegant. It pairs very well with shrimp and pea risotto, but is also lovely with blue Burgundy cheeses. The wine can continue to age in the cellar for up to 5 years after the vintage.
The vineyards of Louis Latour Saint-Véran are situated around Pouilly-Fuissé and are similar in style and technique. The soil here consists of fossilized limestone and clay, which imparts fresh and elegant minerality to the wine. Combined with the hours of sunshine, the grapes grow to top quality. After the harvest, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks to preserve as much freshness and fruity aromas as possible. Subsequently, the wine also undergoes malolactic fermentation, making it beautifully round and full-bodied. This is also where the buttery taste comes from. After fermentation, the wine ages for 8 to 10 months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled.
The family business Louis Latour has been since the 17th century active in high-end viticulture. The winery is located in the Côte d’Or, in the heart of the Burgundy region. Here, they have been producing wines of outstanding quality for ten generations that rank among the best in the world. It is no wonder that Burgundy and Louis Latour are often mentioned in the same breath. Latour wines can be found particularly in upscale hospitality establishments. The house has since grown into a major global player and is active in more than sixty countries. Louis Latour wines are of high quality and sustainably produced.
