Pinot Grigio from the best region

Marco Felluga Mongris Collio Pinot Grigio comes from the best area for Pinot Grigio: Collio. This hilly region in Friuli is known for its quality white wines. Golden yellow in color with almost copper hues. An intense bouquet with pronounced aromas of acacia flowers, ripe apples, and other stone fruit. On the palate, a very friendly start, lightly creamy and elegant with plenty of white fruit and a full, almost creamy structure; well-balanced, with beautifully fresh acidity at the finish, and a remarkably long aftertaste.
This wine is made from 100% Pinot Gris grapes. After a short cold maceration, a light pressing follows to produce a truly pure juice free of bitter elements. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine ages on the lees for 6 months before being bottled. Because this aging occurs on the lees, the Marco Felluga Mongris Collio Pinot Grigio becomes more complex and, moreover, acquires a creamier character.
The name Mongris, stated on the label, comes from the contraction of ‘mono’ (one) grape variety and the Friulian word for Pinot Grigio, Gris.
Moreover, the Marco Felluga Collio Pinot Grigio is delicious not only in the sun on the terrace but, thanks to its fullness, is also very suitable with Vitello Tonnato, and superb with a salad with Burrata and grilled (yes, really!!) grapes.

    Marco Felluga Winery

Roberto Felluga now represents the fifth generation of the Marco winery. Felluga. The Felluga family and wine go hand in hand. The history dates back to the mid-1800s. It began in Istria (Croatia), and it wasn't until the 1930s that Giovanni Felluga decided to settle in Friuli, more specifically in the Collio region. In 1936, Marco took over and founded the current Marco Felluga wine estate, always seeking a balance between old tradition and innovation, with quality as the sole focus.

The grapes, 80% of which are white, grow on 120 hectares of vineyards. Some are owned by the family, while others are cultivated by them. Most of the white wines ferment in stainless steel tanks, except for the Collio Bianco Molamatta. The latter is made from Tocai Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, and Pinot Bianco. The Pinot Bianco is refined in oak. The Riserva series also ferments in oak barrels rather than stainless steel.
Marco Felluga's vineyards are located in four different areas of the Collio: Farra d’Isonzo, San Floriano del Collio, Oslavia, and Cormòns.
