In 1987, Aurelio Montes and three partners took the initiative to start a wine company with the goal of utilizing the full potential of Chile as a wine-producing country and producing wine of absolute top quality. Montes is one of the absolute top producers in Chile, and Aurelio was recently voted the country's most influential wine producer. Montes owns five vineyards. Three of them are located in the Curico Valley and two in the Colchagua Valley; together, they cover an area of ​​600 hectares. In 2004, a completely new winery was built in Alpalta, designed according to the Chinese Feng Shui philosophy.
