    An Amarone with exceptional finesse

The Morandina Amarone del Valpolicella is an Amarone that distinguishes itself through its refinement and elegance. Instead of overwhelming power, this wine offers a balanced complexity and purity. The aroma is spicy with notes of wild cherries, plums, and dried herbs. On the palate, you taste a velvety texture with flavors of bitter cherry, dried orange peel, and ripe red fruit. The long, complex finish reveals subtle hints of chocolate ganache. This is an Amarone in a refined style that can continue to develop in the bottle.

The grape varieties used are Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Oseletta. After the harvest, the grapes are dried for two months in a specially ventilated room, the Fruttaio. Subsequently, they undergo a maceration and fermentation of 15 days in stainless steel tanks. The wine then undergoes malolactic fermentation, during which one-third ages in Allier barriques and the remainder in 5hl. tonneaux for three years.

Try the lighter one as well Valpolicella Ripasso or the fresh witte Soave!

This Amarone is perfect to combine with game dishes, mature cheeses or simply to enjoy in peace.

Graziano Prà and the Morandina vineyard

Graziano Prà was long known as a producer of refined white wines, but decided to take on the challenge of making classic red wines from Veneto as well. After a long search, he found the perfect vineyard on the higher marl slopes of the Valle di Mezzane. There, in the east of Valpolicella, lies La Morandina.

The vineyards are situated on soils of limestone, ancient clay, and sea sand, with a subsoil of rubble and slate. At an altitude of approximately 500 meters, the grapes benefit from a cooling breeze originating from the hills of Monti Lessini. The traditional Veronese grapes are cultivated here according to the guyot-system with a high planting density. This results in low yields and high-quality grapes, which subsequently the appassimento-undergo process.

In 2006, Graziano Prà released his first red wine from the Morandina vineyard. Since then, he has proven that his Amarone deserves a special place among Valpolicella wines. A wine to truly pause and reflect on.
