Organic Verdicchio that leaves many others behind

Behind the long wine name Tavignano Verdicchio di Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore hides a flavourful white wine from the Marche wine region in Central Italy. The Tenuta di Tavignano knows perfectly how to produce this wine with exactly the right balance between body, fruit, and freshness. The result is an incredibly delicious white wine with aromas of peach, apple, and lemon. Best enjoyed immediately after the harvest. The wine has received two or three glasses multiple times in the Gambero Rosso, a truly high distinction in this class of organic farming. Our tip!

Clear and glossy straw-yellow, this Tavignano Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore is unusually rich, with very deep and persistent flavors (white peach, grapefruit, acacia flowers, star anise, citrus, and mineral aromas), yet remains remarkably crisp thanks to a very long finish. It delivers all the freshness and complexity associated with this grape variety. Verdicchio is therefore considered one of the best white wine grape varieties in Italy.

    Tenuta Di Tavignano

The beautiful Tenuta di Tavignano estate is situated on the hills overlooking the valleys of the Esino and Musone rivers. The owners began converting their estate into a quality wine producer in the early 1990s. Since then, they have slowly developed their 30 hectares of vineyards to be an exemplary source of local varieties, with Verdicchio as their focus and the majority of their production. Yields are tightly controlled, and all harvests are done by hand. Additionally, the estate is currently in the conversion phase for organic certification.

Over the years, this Tenuta has been appreciated and awarded by wine critics all over the world (e.g. Wine Advocate – Robert Parker, Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, Vinous, Veronelli, to name just a few) and already a six-time winner of the “Tre Bicchieri” best award presented by the leading Italian wine guide, Gambero Rosso, the Tavignano Verdicchio Classico Superiore also received the even greater distinction of “Italian White Wine of the Year” at the Gambero Rosso 2017 Awards with its 2015 vintage.
