This Acinorè from Tenuta Giustini is the Primitivo grape at its best! Acinorè literally means ‘King of the grapes’. Sourced from Manduria in Puglia, only the best grapes from the oldest vines were used for this wine. Ripe, dark fruit combines with warm, spicy notes, thanks to 6 months of oak aging. Complex, full, and round in taste with velvety tannins and a full body. This Primitivo di Manduria is a true food wine! Fire up the BBQ or the grill. But it is also a great wine with red pasta.
Tasting note Tenuta Giustini Acinorè Primitivo
The Acinorè Primitivo lends itself perfectly as a meditation wine. Just sit down and enjoy it for a long, quiet time, and you will see that the wine changes with every sip! The deep, ruby red color hangs beautifully in the glass. Aromas of red fruit develop with caramel and rhubarb. Hugely fruity with a distinct note of vanilla. The palate is full and smooth. Velvety tannins and a lovely freshness. Fantastic with rich dishes and grilled meats, but also great with a piece of aged cheese or dark chocolate!
The vineyards of this Tenuta Giustini Acinorè Primitivo are naturally located in Manduria in the heel of Italy: Puglia. The vines for this 100% Primitivo are at least 50 years old. The age results in a lower yield per vine, but greater complexity and quality per grape! The harvest is carried out entirely by hand. Only the best grapes from these vines end up in this wine. The grapes are destemmed and gently crushed. For 15 days, the juice ferments together with the skins, which are regularly submerged. After fermentation, the wine ages for 6 months in oak barrels, followed by bottle aging of at least 3 months.
Tenuta Giustini is a winery from Puglia that has been making wine for four generations, but only since 2005 under its own label. They produce wines from local grapes: Primitivo, Negroamaro, Malvasia, and Fiano. The vineyards are situated right by the sea. The fertile terroirs of the vineyards and the sun-drenched climate result in accessible and seductive wines. The proximity to the sea ensures freshness in the wines due to the temperature differences between day and night. We are very enthusiastic about the quality of their wines, the beautiful labels, and especially the price-quality ratio.
