There are few wines that can take the term ‘fruit bomb’ literally. This Vesevo Aglianico Beneventano is one of them! Fresh cherries, raspberries, and blackberries. Crisp acidity and a soft, warm mouthfeel. And then the smoky edge, a hint of pepper, a vanilla bean, and an incredibly long finish. Sourced from the vineyards surrounding the Vesuvius volcano, the Aglianico grape absorbs the smoky minerals from the soil.
In the glass, the wine is deep red with a purple hue. Very fruity on the nose with intense aromas of red fruit, spices, and vanilla. The wine is complex and intense in flavor, with enough acidity to balance it. Firm yet soft tannins give the wine depth and a long-lasting finish. Serve this wine with rich main courses featuring meat and flavorful sauces. It is also a hit with grilled meat or vegetables.
The grapes for this Vesevo Aglianico Beneventano grow in the vineyards of Vesevo at the foot of Mount Vesuvius in Campania. The volcanic soil forms the perfect substrate for the Aglianico grapes. Only the best grapes end up in this beautiful red wine. After the harvest, the wine is gently pressed and ages for 8 months in oak barrels. This gives the wine its lovely spiciness and soft touch of vanilla.
Vesevo wines are modern and aim to bring the region's traditional Italian winemaking into the modern era. At the same time, they offer excellent value for money, reaching those who have not yet come into contact with wines from the Vesuvius region. The Vesevo winery is committed to sustainability and respect for the environment. They use eco-friendly production methods and strive for minimal environmental impact. The winery produces red, white, and rosé wines from the indigenous Aglianico, Falanghina, and Greco grape varieties. Their wines are known for their elegance, complexity, and balance.
