You simply feel like you are in a Paris XL or Douglas store. What a perfumed bouquet of scents is in this Wolfberger Gewürztraminer Signature. You don't need to search with a flashlight here, because it comes towards you in big waves. A very, and I mean very, aromatic nose with exuberant exotic fruit such as lychee, mango, guava, and papaya, a rose lane, a blooming jasmine bush, and a presence of Oriental spices like cinnamon and cardamom. The palate is complex, inviting, and has a fine, lingering finish. This beautiful Wolfberger Gewürztraminer Signature is therefore made from the Gewürztraminer grapes. The grapes are harvested at their optimal ripeness. After alcoholic fermentation, the wine ages on the lees. The vinification process produces a wine with a subtle sweetness… without it becoming overpowering.
For many enthusiasts, the wine is meant to be drunk on its own; however, we prefer it with the right dishes: a homemade country pâté, Thai dishes such as Pad Thai and Tom Yam. An ultimate combination is also a well-aged Münster cheese or the local Baeckeoffe.
The Wolfberger Signature wines reflect the diversity of the Alsace vineyards. These Wolfberger Signature wines are the primary expression of each variety for every vintage. They are carefully selected each year by a tasting committee of renowned sommeliers, food and beverage industry professionals, and the most famous restaurant chefs to meet the demands of the most discerning gourmets. It is a unique range, typical of Alsace.
Wolfsberger, founded in 1902 in Eguisheim, was one of the first wine cooperatives in Alsace. Today, it boasts 1,184 hectares of vines (cultivated according to the ‘lutte raisonnéé’ method) and 420 united winegrowers who still consider themselves pioneers. The House of Wolfsberger has developed with respect for tradition and the craftsmanship of its people. After more than a century, it has grown into a worthy ambassador of the Alsace terroir. It offers a wide range of Vins d’Alsace, Crémants d’Alsace, and Eaux-de-Vie d’Alsace.
