The Lunaria Costi di Moro is a Blio-esque red wine made from 100% Montepulciano grapes with a short period of oak aging. Deliciously abundant red and black fruit that bursts out of the glass! Spicy, vanilla, and even a hint of cocoa. It is an obvious choice with a wild bull on the bottle, but the Lunaria Costi di Moro Montepulciano is truly a beastly delicious red wine. Wonderful to drink on its own, but certainly also highly recommended with meat and pasta.

The Coste di Moro (in English: Dark Coasts) is produced in the Abuzzo region, just below the center of Italy. This wine was awarded a silver medal at the Munus Vino wine competition. Lunaria is a biodynamic winery (Demeter certified).

What does the Lunaria Coste di Moro Montepulciano taste like?

The wine has a delicious aroma of black fruit with the typical spiciness of the Montepulciano grape. The taste is round, luscious, fruity, and spicy! Intense aromas of ripe cherries, sweetened red fruit, and plums burst forth from four months of aging in oak barrels. You can also detect hints of toast and chocolate. The soft bitterness and acidity are beautifully balanced, giving the wine body and power. Intense and soft in flavor, without harsh tannins.

The Lunaria Coste di Moro is intense, full-bodied, and velvety in taste. A sultry, concentrated fruity flavor with some earthy spiciness and a chocolate accent. Mmmmmmm….!!! The finish is soft and sweet with a slight nutty bitterness.

About the winery Cantina Orsogna – Lunaria

Cantina Orsogna is a cooperative with over 600 partners in the Abruzzo wine region. Within the cooperative, Lunaria has a character of their own. They produce beautiful, pure wines, each with its own story. The wines come from an area located 15 km from the Adriatic coast, close to the second highest mountain in the Apennines, the Majella. The vineyards are situated at an average altitude of between 300 and 450 meters.

At Lunaria, all grapes are grown exclusively biodynamically, and every label symbolizes an animal. Lunaria takes sustainability and biodynamics very seriously. The Demeter certification demonstrates that the wines meet high standards in this regard.

    Wine / food

You can carefree enjoy wine from this glass without a meal, but it wouldn't look out of place with a juicy (barbecue) steak with a rich red wine sauce. Just like a rich charcuterie board with cured sausage, cured ham, and a different kind of Italian foreplay, for that matter…
