A selection of the best and eponymous grapes from the Barbera region are used. After vinification, the wine is aged in new wood for 4 months before being bottled. This results in a delicious combination of red fruit, wild plums, chocolate, and tasty vanilla aromas. A soft mouthfeel surprises even the most critical tasters! A robust Barbera , perfectly suitable for the table.

Cascina Ghercina was founded in 1871, and over the various generations, a clear mission has been prioritized: only homegrown produce and quality come first. In 2002, the family purchased an additional 8 hectares of vineyards located on south-westerly slopes in the heart of the Barolo region. Situated 360 meters above sea level, the location of Lake Ghercina among the vineyards offers an exclusive microclimate. Furthermore, they constructed a 5,000 m² wine cellar at that time, which is partially underground. This increased the storage capacity to over 15,000 hectoliters. The estate also holds vineyards in Langhe, Alba, Roero, Asti, Monferrato, and Gavi. Cascina Ghercina is therefore the epitome of the Pïemonte streek.

The wines are delicious with roasted meat, and the local dishes with porcini mushrooms, sausage meat, and chestnuts with polenta score particularly well with them!
