The Conte di Campiano Negroamaro Appassimento is an incredibly delicious red wine. Fruity, full, intense and soft taste, with a subtle sweetness. This wine is made from grapes that have dried on the vines for three weeks. This method is called ‘passimento’ in Italy.

The wine is made from 100% Negroamaro grapes. The Negroamaro is one of the most important indigenous red grapes from Puglia. The name comes from Italian and consists of two words: negro means ‘dark color’ and amaro means ‘bitter’. They leave the grapes on the vines for three weeks longer, which gives the wine a ripe and concentrated taste.

The grapes are picked manually at the end of September/beginning of October, after which the skins are soaked to extract flavor and color.

Appassimento Conte di Campiano has a ruby ​​red color with orange tones. In the nose you smell intense, complex and slightly roasted aromas (espresso and butterscotch) with notes of overripe black dark fruit such as cherry and blackberry. Native herbs such as thyme and rosemary give the wine a clear complexity. France has a nice word for that: garrigue. A good balance between softness and firmness with a very light bitterness in the aftertaste.

This wine is an excellent match with mature cheeses and roasted meats. This wine also works well as a warm meditation wine by the fireplace. If you serve the wine to friends or relations, they will immediately notice that you are serving them a quality wine. And that for this price!
