Concentration and Mediterranean soul in one!

Barón de Ley Finca Monasterio is a red wine from the winery Barón de Ley from La Rioja and clearly has a good time with us wine lovers. First of all, an absolute classic on the table. Finca Monasterio is made with Tempranillo and other grape varieties, all grown on the estate surrounding the Benedictine monastery, planted in 1985. Somewhat deviating from a standard Rioja, the Finca Monasterio ages for 18 months in new French oak barrels and then for another 6 months in 10,000-liter French oak foudres. Not a typical Rioja aging process, therefore. Consequently, the wine certainly continues to age well in the bottle for several years. It has an intense black cherry color. Dominant aromas of jammy fruit and balsamic oak, as well as black tea, coconut, cocoa, and spices.

A wine with good backbone and balance, elegance and plenty of flavour, and certainly a few more years ahead! An iconic wine. This Barón de Ley Finca Monasterio comes in beautiful packaging and is best enjoyed at the table. Delicious with Lamsrollade met geroosterde aardappeltjes.

    Baron de Ley

Baron de Ley's distinctive viticulture philosophy begins with a unique asset. There are over 600 hectares of vines in various sub-regions of Rioja. This is truly a guarantee of top quality and authentic wines, grown and crafted from the vineyard and characterized by the features of each harvest. In addition to manual harvesting, their sorting facility combines manual selection of the bunches with mechanical selection of the berries, to a total capacity of 1.8 million kg of grapes per vintage—an impressive milestone in Rioja. An example for this region.

This Barón de Ley Finca Monasterio is a real point-winner.
