With a bottle of Biscardo Prosecco Spumante Millesimato Rosé, you have something special. This rosé prosecco is made from two grape varieties. The white grape Glera (The ‘regular’ prosecco is made from this grape) and the black grape Pinot Noir for the color and certainly its delicious taste! This is a refined sparkling wine with a good price/quality ratio. The Biscardo Prosecco Rosé certainly excels in its harmony of flavors together with the fine, soft mousse. Beautifully soft bubbles. On the nose as well as on the palate, notes of cassis, wild strawberry, and aromatic rose petals are clearly present. Deliciously fresh finish, also due to its light grapefruit acidity at the end. This Prosecco is an invitation to celebrate life – at a party, a special occasion, or a stylish cocktail dinner. It stands for freshness, elegance, and pleasure! It is also versatile as an aperitif and perfect as an accompaniment to fish dishes. Biscardo Prosecco Spumante Millesimato Rosé is delicious with a shrimp cocktail, that way you stay entirely within the same color scheme.
The production area for Glera is located in the Veneto region. The cultivation density is around 3,500 to 4,000 rootstocks per hectare, and the cultivation technique is typical of this area (using single or double espalier vines). Only traditional pruning is used. The annual yield is approximately 100 tonnes of grapes. The Pinot Noir also comes from the far east of the province of Verona, where it finds the best climate and soil conditions to express itself at its best. Biscardo harvests the Glera and Pinot Noir grapes by hand. Whole bunches are used, which prevents the onset of various unpleasant fermentation processes. The grapes go directly to the cellars on the morning of the harvest. Destemming and pressing take place under controlled temperature. The two grape varieties in this blend are brought together before the fermentation process takes place. This is done to preserve the intensity and aromas. Subsequently, the wines are stored in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, a second fermentation is initiated in stainless steel tanks to give the wine its carbonated mousse.
This family winery was founded more than 150 years ago, in 1878, and was one of the first wine companies run by ‘Veronese’ merchants. In the 1950s, the Biscardo company became one of the most important in Veneto. And after more than a century of wine tradition, the family remains dedicated to improving the quality of their wines. The brothers Maurizio and Martino Biscardo, known for their Proseccos and particularly Corvina-based red wines, are now also involved in a fascinating project in Puglia, where they have established the Baglio Gibellina winery. Both the Pugliese and Veneto wines are characterized by dangerous drinkability, aromatic purity, and exceptional value for money.
