The grapes grow on old vines situated at an altitude of approximately 650 meters above sea level. The Escudera family has been making wine for generations in La Seca, a small town in the heart of Rueda. The clay soil is covered with large pebbles, which radiate the sun's heat to the grapes at night, allowing them to continue ripening through their roots. Bodegas Don Diego has it all: Traditional viticulture combined with modern vinification methods. Most wines ferment and are aged in stainless steel tanks, allowing the fresh, aromatic character of the Bodegas Don Diego Anarian Verdejo to come into its own even better.
