    Certainly no wallflower….

The Boutinot La Fleur Solitaire Côtes du Rhône blanc is a very fine, expressive wine that knows its place! And that place is on your table! The Boutinot La Fleur Solitaire Côtes du Rhône blanc has an aroma like spring blossoms with hints of tropical fruit such as mango and papaya. The taste is subtle, refreshing, lively, and tastes of ripe fresh fruit. The wine is a refreshing Rhône, bursting with ripe fruit and perfectly balanced. Smooth and fine finish.

Although famous for its red wines, white wines have a long history in the southern Rhône Valley, where the local population occasionally enjoys a glass at the start of a warm evening. La Fleur Solitaire is therefore a solitaire among the rubies of the Boutinot Rhône range; a white Côtes du Rhône made from traditional white grape varieties from the southern Rhône.

The grapes used are Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Roussanne, Marsanne, Clairette , Bourboulenc. The blend of all these wines lends the wine extra complexity. Boutinot has once again selected vineyards in the southern Rhône. After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed, gently pressed, and fermented at a low temperature, mostly in stainless steel, with less than a third in old French oak. 75% of the wine ferments in stainless steel and up to 33% in wooden barrels for 6 months. The result is impressive.

    Boutinot

Boutinot is a major producer that sources wines from many parts of the world. In the Rhône, they primarily have their own vineyards where they work with respect for the environment. They use as few additives as possible in the production of the wines.

Paul Boutinot’s is a member of an illustrious group dedicated to preserving the original Rhône Villages. They visit the southern villages of the Côtes du Rhône in search of perfect terroir and partners with flexible facilities for the vinification and aging of the wines. This search has yielded exceptional “single village” wines and an exquisite Côtes du Rhône Village, sourced from Séguret and Cairanne, among others, as well as parts of Roaix, St. Gervais, and Sablet. Eric Monnin vinifies each plot individually and subsequently ages the wines in a combination of new barrels, older barrels, and demi-muids (600 liters). The rigorous selection and pursuit of perfection result in stunningly beautiful Rhône wines, where each wine in its own right provides a magnificent reflection of the terroir.

The wine magazine for enthusiasts and professionals, Perswijn, rated this wine 4.5 out of 5 stars!! Very good to excellent.
