Barolo?? Barbaresco!! Nebbiolo at its best.

This wine from the Cigliuti brothers is also a work of art in the glass. This exclusive wine makes every occasion special. A beautiful Barbaresco without excessive, distracting oak influences. Cigliuti Barbaresco Vie Erte Bricco di Neive is a refined and elegant wine, made from Nebbiolo grapes grown in vineyards southeast of Neive, in the Piedmont region of Italy. These grapes come from Bricco di Neive, one of the two cru vineyards of the Cigliuti house. The soil of these vineyards is sandy and very rich in limestone. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of approximately 350 meters and are southwest-facing, ensuring optimal sun exposure. The relatively young vines produce a wine with a light and elegant character, in which juicy fruit predominates.

    Tasting note

The wine has a complex and inviting aroma. The nose reveals scents of tobacco, tar, and cherries, complemented by floral notes of rose blossom. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and smooth, with beautiful yet firm acidity and tannins. The flavors of juicy fruit are perfectly balanced by the wine's freshness and structure. The long finish is impressive and leaves a lasting impression. This wine has great aging potential, allowing it to evolve and improve even further over the years. The combination of complexity and elegance makes Cigliuti Barbaresco Vie Erte Bricco di Neive an excellent choice for special occasions.

    The Cigliuti Winery

Cigliuti is a small, charming family business in the Serrabulla cru that produces great quality Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto wines. Hard to get hold of due to small production and great name recognition!

Grapes and hazelnuts have been cultivated at Cigliuti for centuries. They have been bottling the wine themselves since 1964, and Renato Cigliuti is the fourth generation to now own the company (currently together with his daughters Claudia and Silvia). Cigliuti is situated on the Serrabulla hill (a cru in the Barbaresco area) in the village of Neive. This hill offers two magnificent terroirs! The dry soil on the southwest side of this steep hill, which is rich in limestone, is ideal for planting Nebbiolo. The family lives at the estate, which stands atop the hill, enjoying a stunning view of the vineyards. The wines are highly regarded internationally among connoisseurs but are little known to the general public due to the small number of bottles produced: 30,000 per year. In short: very high quality and hard to come by!

    Vinification

The grapes for Cigliuti Barbaresco Vie Erte are harvested by hand to ensure the highest quality. After the harvest, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks, which helps preserve the wine's freshness and fruitiness. Subsequently, the wine ages in large Slavonian oak barrels. This process makes the wine softer and rounder, without adding an overpowering oak flavor. The winemakers at Cigliuti use traditional methods combined with modern techniques to produce wines of exceptional quality.

Enjoy the Cigliuti Barbaresco Vie Erte Bricco di Neive

Cigliuti Barbaresco Vie Erte is a versatile wine that pairs excellently with a wide range of dishes. Try this wine, for example, with grilled meats, rich pasta dishes, or aged cheeses. The complexity and elegance of the wine also make it perfect for special moments and celebrations.
