Corvezzo Italian Rosé is an organic rosé from Veneto, made from the Raboso grape. This local red grape is known for its lively acidity, red fruit, and spicy character. In rosé form, this results in a wine that is fresh, dry, and surprisingly flavorful. Corvezzo works organically and is known for accessible, modern wines with a clean style.
Italian rosé with an 8+ from De Grote Hamersma
Hamersma (8+): “Corvezzo Italian rosé presented in the distinctive bottle that we have come to know well from this producer. The white and rosé wines, in particular, are beautifully showcased by the facets in the glass of the bottle.
This rosé is made from the Raboso grape. Red wines from this grape can sometimes be stiff with tannins and acidity. Actually, it is better suited for a rosé like this one, whose color leans towards peach.
Pleasant small red fruit, a fair amount of citrus (especially grapefruit), light spiciness, and acidity that fits in well here.
In the glass, the wine has an elegant, delicate rosé color. The aroma is expressive, with notes of citrus, grapefruit, blood orange, and ripe red fruit. Think strawberry, raspberry, and a subtle spicy undertone.
The taste is fresh, dry, and beautifully balanced. The red fruit is supported by lively acidity and a light hint of grapefruit. As a result, the wine remains crisp and easy to drink. The finish is refreshing, dry, and fruity.
Corvezzo produces this rosé from organically grown grapes from the area around Cessalto, in Veneto. The Raboso grape thrives on the Venetian plain, where warm days and cooler nights ensure ripe fruit and fresh acidity. It is precisely this combination that makes this grape interesting for rosé.
Corvezzo Rosé is an ideal wine for aperitifs, the terrace, and light Italian cuisine. Serve it with antipasti, salads, grilled vegetables, vitello tonnato, fish, shellfish, or a summer barbecue. It also pairs perfectly with vegetable pizza or a fresh pasta with tomato and basil.
Serve the wine well chilled, around 8 to 10 degrees. This brings out the citrus fruit, strawberry, and fresh finish best.
Corvezzo is a family business from Cessalto, in the province of Treviso in Veneto. The winery was founded in 1955 and is located between Cessalto and Motta di Livenza, in the area of the Strada dei Vini del Piave. This region has a long agricultural tradition and is particularly known for fresh, accessible wines from Northeast Italy.
Under the leadership of Giovanni Corvezzo, the estate has committed strongly to organic viticulture. Corvezzo works with organically certified grapes and is known for his sustainable approach in the vineyard. The winery has built a strong reputation, particularly with Glera, the grape behind Prosecco.
The style of Corvezzo is modern, clean, and fruit-oriented. The wines are crafted to combine freshness, drinkability, and Italian charm. As a result, they pair well with aperitifs, light dishes, and moments when you are looking for an accessible organic wine.
