A gem from our own Zeeland

But really... Delightfully floral, juicy apple and a hint of pear, a briny minerality and fine spiciness. The Kleine Schorre Auxerrois is delicious and elegant. Made to accompany briny Zeeland delicacies such as oysters, mussels, and Oosterschelde lobster, but it can also be enjoyed perfectly on its own!

    Praised at high altitude!

De Kleine Schorre has several award-winning wines in its assortment. Wine critics regularly praise the wines for their excellent quality and unique taste.
The KLM even has the wines from De Kleine Schorre in their World Business Class selection!
One of the showpieces is the Schouwen-D®uiveland Auxerrois, with an elegant balance between fruit and minerality. The wines from this winery are perfect with seafood. A nod to the maritime influence on the vineyards.

    Winery De Kleine Schorre

Wijnhuis De Kleine Schorre, located in picturesque Dreischor on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland, is one of the most renowned wineries in the Netherlands. Founded in 2001, this small winery has quickly established itself as a producer of quality wines. Its unique location in Zeeland offers a special climate for viticulture, with salty sea air and a clay/sand soil. The elegance of De Kleine Schorre's wines is the result of this.

The history of Wijnhoeve de Kleine Schorre is still relatively young; the wine estate has only existed since 2001. In collaboration with the renowned Luxembourg wine company Cep d’Or, De Kleine Schorre embarked on this adventure in Dreischor. The goal: to produce wine that seamlessly complements all the good things Zeeland has to offer. From oysters and flatfish to samphire. The rigorous selection of the grapes resulted in the Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Rivaner and Auxerrois. The vineyard has since grown into one of the largest vineyards in the Netherlands, covering no less than 14 hectares and over 63,000 vines! When the grapes have reached optimal ripeness and the hour of the harvest has arrived, the Wijnhoeve relies on volunteers to pick the grapes. At the Wijnhoeve, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks. This ensures the wine retains the freshness and all the beauty of the grapes. You can taste the love and passion for the product in the wine!

    The Little Schorre Auxerrois

Auxerrois grapes are primarily found in Alsace and Luxembourg. However, this grape is perfectly suited to the climate of Zeeland! The grape combines its beautiful acidity with a powerful and spicy flavor. Another advantage is that the grape does not ripen too late. The vineyards of Kleine Schorre are situated on an old shell bank. As a result, drainage is excellent; precipitation washes away very quickly. For a wet country like the Netherlands, this is a very welcome benefit! Moreover, Schouwen-D(r)uiveland is one of the sunniest spots in the Netherlands, allowing the grapes to ripen well and reducing the risk of disease. All in all, the best conditions for the Auxerrois grape.
