El Coto de Rioja Crianza can call itself the best-selling red Rioja wine in Spain, and not without reason! This classic Rioja is made from the
Tempranillo grape, and what a delicious glass it is too. Yummy!! We are impressed by this wine, and according to Vivino, it even ranks among the top 5% of all wines in the world! Taste El Coto Crianza for yourself now, Spanish red at its best!! In the wine glass, you see a bright garnet red color. The aroma has the freshness of red forest fruits, Mediterranean herbs with notes of vanilla, and the most characteristic aromas of sweet oak. On the palate, it is smooth, silky soft with power and elegance. Wonderfully long finish.
El Coto de Rioja Crianza is versatile and easy to pair with a multitude of dishes: a grilled steak, Dutch hachée with red cabbage, Captain’s dinner with marrowfat peas, and of course a top combination with
Jamón Serrano. Serve the wine at 16-18ºC.
And oh yes, this is what the wine experts think of it, by the way, so……:

Classical Process
The Tempranillo-grapes are fermented at the El Coto winery in Oyón (Rioja) in vats equipped with the most advanced technology. This ensures strict control over the entire vinification process. The goal is to achieve a beautiful fusion of structure and balance. A Rioja wine may label itself Crianza if it has been aged in wooden barrels for at least 12 months. Although not mandatory, El Coto has opted for smaller 225-liter barrels made of selected American oak. Subsequently, the wine further develops in the bottle for at least 6 months before leaving the winery.
El Coto de Rioja Winery
El Coto de Rioja winery is a relatively young (1970) but very successful company. Located just north of Logroño, the winery makes an immediate impression due to its size and combination of high tech with centuries-old traditions. El Coto owns 700 hectares of its own vineyards spread across 7 different locations, enabling it to achieve an optimal diversity of grape varieties. Vineyard management is continuously scientifically monitored, ensuring that grapes of the highest possible quality can be produced under all conditions. For the aging of its red wines, El Coto uses no fewer than 72,000 oak barrels!
The result of all these efforts has ensured that El Coto produces wines with an exceptionally good price-quality ratio. As a result, they have grown in a short time into one of the leading houses of the region. For example, El Coto Crianza is the best-selling Rioja Crianza in Spain, and El Coto Blanco is even the best-selling white Rioja in the entire world!
