Currants, leather, tobacco, warm, spicy, chocolate, rich, ripe, powerful, good tannins. Everything that makes a wine good and tasty.

And what’s more: This Fosso Corno Riserva has it all! A rich wine that doesn't compromise on anything! Also plenty of plums and red cherries with a hint of balsamic and licorice on the palate. Full flavor with notes of plums, blackberries, and oak. Pleasant tannins. Length and warmth! A wine just for the table on the weekend when Dad carves the roast beef.

Delicious with roast beef, roasted and glazed duck with Oriental spices. A Pizza Diavola can also handle it with ease!

The grapes (100% Montepulciano) are fermented in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, the wine ages for another 12 months in stainless steel and another 12 months in oak. Before leaving the cellars, it spends a few more months in the bottle. The 30-hectare vineyard for this wine is situated on a single hill in the Abruzzo region with fantastic views over the Adriatic Sea. Pruning is carried out carefully to keep production low and improve quality. The vineyards are always in perfect condition!

    Fosso Corno

Fosso Corno is a young winery owned by brother and sister Marco and Sabrina Biscardo in the heart of the Abruzzo region. It was founded in 2001 with the aim of producing fine wines based on the Montepulciano grape. The house produces various styles of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo: from smooth and accessible to rich and powerful, using French oak barrels.

In this special hill named Fosso Corno (In the municipality of Roseto degli Abruzzi) the vineyards enjoy a unique microclimate with large temperature fluctuations. On one side of the hill, the grapes benefit from the wind due to the proximity of the sea, while on the other side they enjoy a fresh breeze coming from the Gran Sasso. These climatic conditions give the grapes a strong aroma and guarantee perfect ripening.

Nature offers all of this, and at Fosso Corno, they see it as their duty to respect and protect the extraordinary beauty of this area.
At Fosso Corno, they therefore started six years ago to carefully manage our vineyards, with respect for the soil and plants, through mechanical cultivation. They decided to purchase three special machines that allow them to work the land around the vines without damage. By loosening the soil between the vines, they can not only eradicate weeds but also remove roots at the surface and aerate the soil, all without having to resort to chemical herbicides. Doing a good job sustainably here!
