A delicious dessert wine with only 5% alcohol

Just when you think you've had everything, we still have this Giovanni Almondo Fosso della Rosa Brachetto del Roero for you! Brilliant and super surprising, perfect for a delightfully light-footed conclusion to a meal. It is a light red, fresh-sweet, and vibrant wine with soft bubbles and pronounced fruity and floral aromas of strawberries, raspberries, rose petals, and geranium. Through cooling and filtration, fermentation is forcibly halted, and the wine is subsequently bottled under overpressure. As a result, the wine has an extremely modest alcohol percentage of 5%. Serve at a temperature of 8° Celsius as an aperitif – on the terrace! – and with light desserts containing red fruit, such as strawberry soup, raspberry sorbet, or a red fruit tart. Also lovely with, for example a panna cottaIlmondo’s Fosso della Rosa is made from 100% Brachetto. This ancient and rare variety produces one of the most fascinating wines of Piedmont.

Also perfectly suitable for gastronomic use.

They say that the true value of a winemaker is to be found on someone else's dining table. When meeting producers, it is always illustrative to see which wines they pour at home. Time and again, Domenico Almondo and his wines are mentioned in conversations with various Italian wine producers. And that is just about the best reference a winemaker can get. The Almondo family has been growing grapes in Roero for over 300 years. However, it was Domenico’s father, Giovanni, who was the first to decide to bottle his own wine. Today, Domenico naturally works the sandy hills of Roero, together with his two sons, Federico and Stefano, producing world-class Arneis, Nebbiolo, Brachetto, and a small amount of Barbera.

The Almondo family has always lived in the Località Vittori di Montà, the heart of where the Arneis vines now stand. In addition to the white grape vines, whose cultivation is confirmed through various records spanning centuries, the area has also always been considered exceptional for asparagus, strawberries, and peaches. Just like these crops, the top wine Giovanni Almondo Fosso della Rosa Brachetto del Roero excels in aromas and fullness of flavor.
