A fruit basket in a bottle with the intensity of the Mediterranean sun!

This wine is truly a ripe fruit basket! Cherry, blackberry, plum, raspberry, red and blackcurrant stand out immediately. Followed by some spiciness from thyme, pepper, lavender, and bay leaf. The Jean Claude Mas Intense Rouge comes from the sun-drenched Languedoc-Roussillon region in the South of France. This wine is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, Merlot and Carignan grapes. Together they form a harmonious and attractive wine with intensity and plenty of fruitiness. Ideal for wine lovers looking for a characterful, accessible wine that suits any occasion.

Flavor Profile and Culinary Pairings for the Jean Claude Mas Intense Rouge

Jean Claude Mas Intense Rouge has aromas of ripe red berries, black cherries, and a hint of spices. On the palate, you taste a full, soft texture with notes of blackberries, plums, and a subtle touch of vanilla from aging in oak. This wine has a beautiful balance between freshness and complexity. Perfect to enjoy with white meat, grilled meat, and guinea fowl with fresh thyme. But also with Spanish tapas, bruschetta with aromatic herbs, and soft to medium-strength cheeses. Whether you are hosting a dinner or simply enjoying a glass of wine on a relaxed evening, this wine is a perfect match.

Domaines Paul Mas, a quality concern

The great-grandfather of the current winemaker Jean-Claude Mas, Auguste Mas, bought the family's first vineyard in 1892, when he acquired 9 hectares near Montagnac. The business continued to grow. In 1987, Paul Mas gave 35 hectares to his son, Jean-Claude, who created Domaine Paul Mas three years later.
Today, Domaines Paul Mas owns more than 600 hectares of vineyards and also works with various farmers, giving them an additional 1312 hectares at their disposal. This allows them to have access to up to 40 different grape varieties, both locally and internationally. As well as an incredible range of different soils in the LanguedocThe philosophy of ‘Les Domaines Paul Mas’ is aimed at preserving the terroir character and grape variety, while simultaneously presenting a wine that meets today’s consumer demands: plenty of fruit, concentration, color, aroma, and taste.
