Anyway, this gathering adds up to just 700 bottles. The Monasterio de Corias Finca La Zorrina Asturias is a field blend of Albarin Negro, Carrasquin, and Verdejo Negro from Asturias. Very obscure and local grapes, but so interesting. Should we hurry? I would! For those who love pure nature: cherries, ripe raspberries, small plums, and copious juice. Associations with a good Morgon from Beaujolais come to mind. And what a soothing mouthfeel. And thirst-quenching, appetite-stimulating, and causing soft, whispering musings. Perfect for a late summer evening in the garden wearing a sweater, with conversations becoming increasingly animated thanks to the generously poured wine. Three indigenous grapes in a delicious blend: Carrasquin, Verdejo Negro, and Albarin Negro. Made with as little intervention as possible, let the old vines and the delightful Atlantic climate do their work, the foundation in the schist soil is great, and a good winemaker finishes it off.
Simply delicious. Monasterio de Corias Finca La Zorrina Asturias is ready to surprise everyone. Super tasty with a slow-cooked lamb shank.
Monasterio De Corias in Asturias has already restored many old vineyards of the “Corias” monasteries. However, this plot, the 'Finca La Zorrina' is a very special vineyard; acquired ownership on March 6, 1892 for only 45 pesetas! Oh yes, old times! The vines there are old and beautiful, the three native grape varieties are planted together in the plot, only give a limited yield, but that yield is very full of flavor.
Juan Manuel Redondo, who sadly passed away suddenly in 2017, was one of the founders of the revival of viticulture here in Cangas. Born and raised in Cangas, he was a winemaker and oenologist, and together with his business partner, he was able to realize his boyhood dream: to breathe new life into the winery of the Monasterio de Corias monastery. They brought fantastic wines to market, sparked local interest in viticulture, trained locals, and ensured the continuation of his vision to put viticulture in Cangas firmly on the map, safeguard Cangas' cultural heritage for the future, and build a reputation for the wines. His legacy, Monasterio de Corias Finca La Zorrina Asturias, ensures that the memory remains.
