The best of both worlds, bursting with elegance…

This is more than a typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc! Notes of citrus (grapefruit), gooseberry, flowers, and even a hint of grass make it truly elegant! Combined with a lovely vibrant character and a crisp freshness, this makes the Saint Clair Origin Sauvignon Blanc the best of both worlds.

More than the typical New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc

New Zealand has secured a very firm place in the wine world with their Sauvignon BlancEach one even more vibrant and fresh than the last! Once in the glass, there is no escaping it. The aromas shoot straight into your nose. The English call that so beautifully “pungent”. The same goes for our Saint Clair Origin Sauvignon Blanc, although this one is just a bit more interesting than the standard! A crisp delight, this super exciting wine. Thanks to the local climate as well as the power of the sun, the Sauvignon Blanc is perfectly at home here and delivers even more aromas than the same grape anywhere else in the world. Excellent Aroma-Euro ratio here! The Saint Clair Origin Sauvignon Blanc gives you a lot of pleasure! After the harvest, the grapes are pressed, avoiding contact with the skins as much as possible. The juice is cold-fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve its freshness. And you can taste it! It is very light green in color; the wine appears almost colorless, but very intense aromas rise from the glass. Passion fruit, mango, lovely grassy notes, green herbs, grapefruit and other citrus fruits. Incredibly tasty! Fresh and dry, nice and crisp, and quickly leaves you wanting more. Great with drinks or at a party, but it really shows its other side with Asian food: VietnameseThai, sweet and sour Chinese—he loves it all. All too exotic? Then just with a Dutch mussel pot or some oysters. Goat cheese salad is also a top combo!

    Saint Clair winery

True pioneers in Marlborough were Neal and Judy Ibbotson, who planted their first vineyard as early as 1978. For a long time, they sold their grapes to local wineries, but gradually the desire arose to make their own wine. Locally famous Kim Crawford, one of New Zealand's best winemakers, was hired as winemaker. In 1994, the first Saint Clair Estate wine (named after the Sinclair family, who first owned the estate) appeared on the market under its own label, with great success. Today, Saint Clair Family Estate owns over 100 hectares of vineyards. They produce not only Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc but a whole range of wines from various grape varieties. Saint Clair has vineyards in five different districts in Marlborough. From their own 100 hectares of vineyards, they now produce a portfolio of wines that is gaining increasing international recognition.

The tsunami of gold medals that the company has now earned for its wines is incalculable. One of the jury members once said, half jokingly: “It would be nice if Saint Clair didn't participate for once, then someone else could win a medal.
