    Powerful Chilean boss

This Tarapaca Gran Reserva Syrah is a powerful fellow. Clearly a wine for a hearty meal. A robust Syrah that truly bursts with black fruit combined with spicy thyme and aromas as if you were roasting meat. And at the same time, with a silky smoothness that grabs you and doesn't let go. Deep purple in color, aromas of black fruit such as blueberry, cassis, pencil shavings, cinnamon, and chocolate. On the palate, dry, very intense with a beautiful balance of that deep black fruit again, as well as notes of leather and chocolate. Tannins are present in the background to give the wine even more backbone. However, everything is clearly arranged and beautifully drinkable.

The Tarapaca Gran Reserva Syrah is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 12 months in small French oak barrels; subsequently, the wine ages for another year in the bottle in their own cellar. Drink this wine with a beautiful grilled Tomahawk steak or a fine, spicy farmhouse cheese platter. A wonderful glass to accompany a rich meal with friends.

    Viña Tarapac

Viña Tarapacá was founded in the 19th century at the foot of the Andes Mountains. They have an extensive portfolio of wines, such as the Tarapaca Gran Reserva Syrah made. Traditional yet simultaneously displaying a contemporary modern style. Most vineyards are located in Maipo Valley, a valley for the production of many beloved wines. Maipo Valley is a wine region near Santiago. It is the oldest and most famous wine region of Chile, where the country's very good Cabernet Sauvignons and Syrahs originate. Maipo Valley comprises three smaller production areas. Alto Maipo borders the Andes Mountains to the east. Central Maipo lies in the valley, and Pacific Maipo is located furthest west.

Wines from the cooler hills possess an intense aroma due to the large differences between day and night temperatures. Central and Pacific Maipo are warmer. Wines from Central Maipo have great character and body and contain more tannins. Wines from Central Maipo are supple and fruity and are best drunk young. The soil here is more fertile, and the wines therefore have a more exuberant character. A unique ecosystem ensures the development of top-quality wines; through careful selection of grapes from the right plots, high-quality wines are obtained with great complexity and good balance. Viña Tarapacá maintains consistently high quality. The portfolio is geared towards the satisfaction of various consumer segments, making Viña Tarapacá a benchmark for Chilean viticulture.

    Sustainable vision

Sustainability is key at Tarapaca certainly: economically, socially, and ecologically. They strive to be at the forefront of technology, winemaking, and vineyard management, utilizing various techniques and practices that take the environment into account. They even have their own hydroelectric power plant that runs on meltwater from the Andes. So drink sustainably, drink Tarapaca.
