The only Gewürztraminers capable of competing and standing up against the Alsatians are those from South Tyrol, and among them is the Tramin. Gewurztraminer Nussbaumer The best. Here at the Tramin Cantine, they go to the extreme. Everything to be the best, and they succeed!! Voted the best Gewürztraminer in Italy.
The Tramin Gewurztraminer Nussbaumer is deep straw yellow with golden reflections. A surprising glass bursting with aromas, full of floral notes of rose petals, spicy white flowers such as lily, roses, and jasmine. Exotic notes of ripe yellow fruit, lychee, melon, mango, passion fruit, and lemon peel. Aromatic spices such as cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger, and saffron. We know these from wines from Alsace as well, but here everything is fresher and remains delightfully exciting, and with lower alcohol content. The wine is rich, deep, spicy, juicy, with intense aroma and freshness, and strong minerality. This is accentuated with aging, making it even more seductive, with an extremely persistent finish. Consequently, you can easily keep the wine for another 10 years or so. The aroma will then become even more complex.
Gewurztraminer is a grape variety that, more than any other, has floral notes of rose, characteristic sensations of lychee and enhanced by spicy essences of clove. The aromatic profile allows for countless combinations in the kitchen. It has been proven that this variety was already widespread in this territory more than a thousand years ago. A variety with ancient origins, from large, prestigious vines, now beloved and widespread throughout the world. In this location, Gewürztraminer has found the ideal spot to develop its characteristic kaleidoscope of aromas. Here, the vineyards are situated at a medium altitude, facing south-southeast to enjoy the sun, as well as to benefit from a wide temperature range that alternates hot days with cool and windy nights.
The wind from Ora del Garda crosses here. The breeze descending from the mountains creates an Alpine-Mediterranean microclimate that offers more than 300 days of sunshine every year and allows the grapes to ripen perfectly. Here, he found a soil rich in calcareous clayey elements that promptly dissipate the heat built up during the mid-hours. This extraordinary combination in its natural environment gives Tramin Gewürztraminer Nussbaumer aromas, body, and a pleasant touch of acidity.
