For the Weingut Burggarten Blanc de Noir, Paul opts for no skin maceration to allow the wine's fresh character to speak for itself as much as possible. Therefore, there is no orange/rosé tinge in the glass, but a beautiful, clear greenish-yellow color. On the nose, notes of lime peel, Granny Smith apple, and jasmine. The taste is very fresh, with a beautiful balance between sweet and sour. So, we have a seductive, soft, and very drinkable Blanc de Noir here! The Weingut Burggarten Blanc de Noir is delicious to drink as an aperitif. It is also wonderful with fresh salads, such as a crab salad with pomelo, and pairs very well with Vietnamese cuisine, for example.

Despite the very northern location of the Ahr (50-51 degrees north latitude), this area is famous for its elegant red wines. Spätburgunder and Frühburgunder are the two most important grapes for the Ahr. While Spätburgunder enjoys international fame under its synonym Pinot Noir, Frühburgunder (also called the Pinot Madeleine) is a more unknown grape variety to many. Frühburgunder is a mutation of Spätburgunder and therefore shares similar characteristics. This grape owes its name to the fact that it generally ripens two weeks earlier than Spätburgunder. In the Ahr, the soil consists mainly of slate, greywacke, and volcanic rock. Weingut Burggarten owns vineyards in all these categories and thereby seeing the beautiful diversity of the Ahr Valley. Weingut Burggarten produces 120,000 bottles per year sourced from 14 hectares.
