The Weingut Burggarten Spätburgunder Vulkangesteinin is originatingfrom old and weathered volcanic rock. It is a medium-bodied, beautiful, dry Pinot Noir (since Spätburgunder is the German name for Pinot Noir). The elegant aromas are reminiscent of ripe wild strawberries. and preserved cherries. Also plenty of fine fruit: redcurrants, strawberries, and cherries. A medium density and structure with a refined, Burgundy-like style. For a Pinot Noir, fairly powerful but ripe tannins in the finish for nice grip. A wine you can age for 8 to 10 years. Pairs well with poultry or is delicious with a venison steak with a lingonberry sauce. Simply a classic. But from Germany, of course!
The Weingut Burggarten Spätburgunder Vulkangestein is an estate wine from volcanic soils. Just behind the village of Heppingen in the Ahr, there is a lot of volcanic rock in the soil. Frühburgunder thrives here, but Spätburgunder also produces rich, slightly spicy wines. This Vulkangestein is aged in large, used wooden barrels for a period of 12 months. Through aging, the wine develops a softer mouthfeel and a bit more body. Be sure to drink it slightly chilled, as this enhances the fruit flavors!
A wine estate that is already being continued in the fourth generation. These are the three brothers: Paul, Heiko and Andreas. They continue what they do parents Gitta & Paul-Josef have reached to this day.
They stand for wines they enjoy themselves. To do this, they require returns. and they extend the ripening times. The leap to de VDP In 2018, their strength and philosophy were confirmed, encouraging them to produce great wines year after year. As Ahr winemakers, Spätburgunder and Frühburgunder are particularly important to the brothers. Great white wines from Pinot Blanc, Cahrdonnay, and Pinot Gris complete their Burgundian family ties. Their quality pyramid is based on the understanding that origin and terroir are responsible for the quality of a wine.
