Nothing primitive about this beautiful Primitivo!

The Zolla Primitivo di Manduria is a beautiful wine that has won the hearts of many Casa del Vino customers! A truly full red wine with lots of black fruit, notes of vanilla and a beautiful wood flavor that is not overpowering. Intense and soft taste. You taste cherries, cassis, dried plums, vanilla and a little sweetness. The exceptionally good price/quality ratio. A gem. The Zolla Primitivo di Manduria has an intense ruby red color with shades of violet. The nose reveals intense, complex, fruity aromas with hints of small red fruits, such as cherries and blackberries. A bit sweet with chocolate. This wine has a velvety texture and is soft, warm, full and has beautifully balanced tannins. A beautiful harmonious wine with an intense aftertaste. You can combine the wine nicely with spicy pasta sauces, meatballs with Moroccan herbs. It also goes well with aged and blue cheeses.

Producer Zolla

Producer Zolla is a Farnese Vini winery, located in Puglia – the heel of Italy’s boot. This peninsula is an ancient wine growing area dating back to the ancient Greeks. It is a very warm area that is cooled by sea breezes at night. Zolla works with smaller wine growers who cultivate the vineyard according to Zolla guidelines and limit the yield of the vines. This results in higher quality. Commonly used grape varieties are Primitivo and Negroamaro. These are local variants that are common in Puglia and the rest of southern Italy.

According to the Vivino app, the Zolla Primitivo di Manduria is among the best 1% of wines in the world. The wine also won a gold medal at the Berliner Wein Thropy 2019, won a silver medal at the European Mundus Vini 2019 and the ladies in Japan also rated it well with a gold medal won at the Sakura World Womens Wine Award 2019. These are convincing recognitions for this delicious glass.
