Powerful expression from Alicante, what a beautiful, full-bodied wine!

Full and soft. Those are the two characteristics that stand out when drinking this wine. Ripe dark fruit, eucalyptus, mint, blackberry, cassis, plum, fig, liquorice, salmiak. Certainly not monotonous and perfectly balanced. The Gran Allegranza Monastrell comes from the Spanish wine region AlicanteRipe blackcurrants and juicy dark cherries dominate the aromatic profile. Wild herbs and notes of dark chocolate enrich the whole. Gran Allegranza Monastrell distinguishes itself through its rich character and fruitiness. The late harvest in November ensures optimal ripening of the grapes.

Taste experience and food and wine pairing

In the glass, the Gran Allegranza Monastrell has a rich and juicy flavor. The perfect balance between ripe fruit and dark chocolate forms the foundation. Soft tannins provide structure without overpowering. This wine comes into its own perfectly with various game dishes. It also shows its strength with grilled and roasted beef. Rich, firm cheeses likewise form a harmonious combination. Think of an aged Dutch cheese or a matured Manchego. Its complex character makes it a versatile gastronomic partner!

    Vinification and Aging

The production of Gran Allegranza Monastrell follows the following process. After the late harvest, the grapes undergo gentle pressing. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 24-26°C. Thorough maceration extracts optimal flavor and color. Malolactic fermentation also takes place in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by aging for six months in French oak barrels. This methodical approach, without excessive wood aging, ensures complexity and balance.

    Origin and Terroir

The warm/hot climate of Alicante offers ideal conditions for the Monastrell (Mourvedre) grape. This grape loves a bit of warmth! The late harvest gives the grapes extra time to develop complexity. It also ensures a concentration of flavor compounds. The combination of climate, soil, and traditional viticulture results in a wine full of character.
